The first lineup for Bleach* Festival 2014 has been announced, set to bring a wave of good vibes and even better tunes to the Gold Coast this coming March. Organisers have kicked things off in style with Violent Soho, Elizabeth Rose, Bad//Dreems and more set to make appearances.
From Friday, 7th March till Sunday, 23rd March 2014, Bleach* will be sending flows of music, beach concerts, theatre, performing arts, and film to the Southern Gold Coast, as well as hosting exciting satellite events around the greater Gold Coast, ensuring everyone experiences the good times.
One of the festival’s true highlights will be the indie music night, which kicks off Friday, 7th March at the SoundLounge at the Currumbin RSL. Taking the stage will be electro-pop songstress Elizabeth Rose, Brisbane’s own The Trouble With Templeton, and indie pop outfit Hey Geronimo.
The following Friday, the mighty grunge-meets-garage hybrid that is Violent Soho will be making their triumphant return to Bleach*, having previously headlined the event’s rock ‘n’ roll party. Joining them will be Adelaide’s Bad//Dreems, and rising Melbourne three-piece The Sinking Teeth.
The announcement concludes with a meeting of music and surf culture, when on Friday, 21st March, Band Of Frequencies presents the Queensland premiere screening of The Transparentsea Voyage – A Modern Voyage with Ancient Creatures, featuring a live soundtrack performance.
“The first line up is a testament to the health and diversity of the Australian music scene is at the moment. By the time the event comes around most of these bands will be well and truly entrenched in our musical consciousness,” said Bleach* Festival Music Programmer Graham Ashton.
