Australia’s biggest music video force, Channel V, has unveiled its final four in the battle to the 2012 OZ Artist of the Year. After Australian rapper 360 took away last year’s award, how quickly he was eliminated came as a surprise.
However, the public have spoken, putting it down to the final four. Due to the fact that it is a popularity contest, rather than based on musical skill, the likes of Delta Goodrem and Reece Mastin have received nominations. Yet hope still remains! Backing up the Australian music scene are two of our favourite artists: rapper Seth Sentry and indie-rockers Ball Park Music. After their release of Museum and their 180° Tour, it seems that Ball Park Music have become as popular as ever. Their performances at Splendour in the Grass have earned them the respect of both fans and peers alike.
Furthermore, Seth Sentry has seen one killer year. After the release of his single Float Away, the subsequent release This Was Tomorrow has also sky rocketed him into the hearts and ears of the Australian public. Although they are up against some of Australia’s strongest social media artists, there is hope that they can come away victorious as yet another heroic underdog story! Come on Ball Park Music and Seth Sentry.
