Axwell Releases First Post-Swedish House Mafia Track ‘Center Of The Universe’

After the orchestrated death of Swedish House Mafia, the horizons seemed limitless for all involved and now Axwell has revealed the path he has chosen, releasing new single and video Center Of The Universe at the top of a four-track remix EP.

The description of the track as a “hypnotic flight of emotional synth work and intricate percussion” certainly fits. This is Axwell as you know and love him, with soaring vocals from Magnus Carlsson sitting above a club-ready, chart-friendly tune.

This track is certainly not a universe away from the bangers that SHM were so well known for, but definitely it’s on the poppier side of the spectrum, and the single is already receiving support from dance floor heavyweights the world over after premiering on Radio 1 thanks to Pete Tong.

The man known to his mum as Axel Hedfors has had a whirlwind 12 months, wrapping up the Swedish House Mafia party at Ultra Music Festival in Miami earlier in the year, as well as embarking on his own world tour after topping charts with his own hit Don’t You Worry Child.

You can check out the clip for Center Of The Universe below. The remix EP is available now on iTunes.
