Aussie Musos Unite For Marriage Equality Charity Mixtape

A bunch of Aussie musicians have joined forces to release a mixtape in support of marriage equality, amid the postal survey on same-sex marriage.

Thirty Days Of Yes pulls together some beloved artists, with Cub Sport, Courtney Barnett, Jen Cloher, Hockey Dad, FORTUNES. and more contributing songs to the project.

The mixtape is intended to encourage people to vote ‘Yes’, and 100 per cent of profits from the release will go to LGBTIQ+ Youth organisations Minus18 and Twenty10.

The mixtape has a base price of $15, but you’re welcome to pay more if you’d like to donate a little extra to the worthy cause.

Melbourne foursome Twerps are kicking off the mixtape with their track ‘It’s Time’ (below), which was written back in 2013 when Tony Abbott was Prime Minister.

“The song was a reminder to him and his party that they would not be speaking on behalf of all straight Australians,” says ex-bassist Rick Milovanovic, who wrote the song for their 2015 record Range Anxiety.

“Most importantly, it was also a message of support to the LGBTIQ+ community, that a lot of straight Australians would be right by their side in the fight for equality in this country.”

A song will be released from Thirty Days Of Yes each day for 30 days, and the full mixtape will be released on 3rd November, but you can pre-order it now here.
