US punks Against Me! have locked in a replacement drummer for their performances in Australia next month. As reported, Atom Willard will sit behind the kit for the band at the Big Day Out and their sideshows.

Willard – who currently drums with Danko Jones and has previously played with The Offspring, Social Distortion and Angels & Airwaves – replaces Jay Weinberg, who quit the group a few weeks ago.

Weinberg’s departure led to frontwoman Laura Jane Grace calling out for a replacement on Twitter, famously tweeting: “Any drummers out there willing to drop everything they’re doing right now, come to FL and learn some songs then go to Australia in 3 weeks?”

She soon followed that up with: “Beyond looking for a drummer for Australia, looking for a full-time drummer to join my band and finish a record.” And it appears Willard has answered the call.

Against Me! will play the Big Day Out in each city, along with sideshows in Sydney on January 17 and Melbourne on January 22.
