Arctic Monkeys guitarist Jamie Cook has expressed optimism at the potential for a 2014 Australian tour during a recent interview. Cook discussed the band’s current plans and assured fans “don’t worry, we’ll definitely be down there, hopefully when it’s warm.”
In an interview with FasterLouder, Cook went on to say that all current plans for the band to tour are tentative, saying “With the album just coming out now, everything is being put together still so there’s no dates yet.” The band’s upcoming fifth studio album, AM is slated for a 6th September Australian release, but Cook reassured fans that they’re keeping Australia in mind for any potential live shows, saying:
“It’s one of our favourite places to come and I’m not just saying that. Any excuse to tread down there and do some gigs. But hopefully next year some time.”
The band were hotly rumoured for Big Day Out 2014, but Cook was unsure of any summer festival dates, saying “We did the Big Day Out that one time and that was great to do, that’s a great festival. But yeah like I said the plans are all up in the air at the minute…but we’ll definitely be down there soon.”
