Arcade Fire‘s highly-anticipated fifth album looks likely to drop this year, and now the band’s drummer Jeremy Gara has confirmed that the follow-up to 2013’s Reflektor has been recorded, and a major tour is in the works behind its release.
In an interview with Red Bull Poland (via ArcadeFireTube), Gara says the band have finished recording all the songs for the album (which “should come out this year”) and are now mixing them and deciding which tracks will end up on the final product.
Tour wise, Gara speculates that Arcade Fire could end up touring their new album for two years. “I do not know where we play, I do not know when we start, or when we finish,” he says. “From my perspective, it looks like the Arcade Fire begins in April and ends somewhere around April 2019.”
Arcade Fire currently have some live shows lined up in Europe for June and July, and they were last in Australia back in 2014 on their Reflektor tour.
The band are also releasing the Reflektor Tapes/Live at Earls Court film and live concert film later this month, on 27th January. Watch a clip from the release, below.
