Alt-Rockers Fan Girl Unveil Pisser Video For ‘Small Town’, Starring Aunty Donna’s Broden Kelly

Melbourne sextet Fan Girl have just loosed a rip-snorting music video for their fresh fuzzy indie rock jam ‘Small Town’, starring comic Broden Kelly from legendary homegrown LOL-collective Aunty Donna.

The clip follows Kelly on a brisk morning walk down the street and unfolds two separate scenarios; one in which it’s his lucky day and everything’s coming up (almost literal) roses; and another where life sucks and fate is raining (almost literal) shit upon him.

“Working with Mr Broden Kelly of Aunty Donna was an unruly amount of fun,” Fan Girl say. “Very ridiculous indeed. It has always been a dream of ours to throw trash and spill coffee on one of the country’s best comedians. So that was a nice bucket list tick. He probably hates us now, but the video turned out great!”

As for the song itself, the band explain that ‘Small Town’ is all about “a night that goes down hill”, which led to the “good day/bad day parallel universe idea”.

We made the video with our dear friend Harry Anderson and his fantastic crew,” they continue. “The video is a split reality based on how a simple choice can drastically effect your day. FYI – Harry Potter audiobooks come highly recommended from the FG team for luck and daily wellbeing.”

“We basically just wanted to warn people of the negative effects our music might have. Broden really dislikes our music, so he was a great advocate to have on board. (Broden actually loves the song, and you should too).”

And the raucous new clip isn’t the only exciting news to come out of the Fan Girl camp today. The group have also announced the imminent release of their debut album Elephant Room, which will arrive on Friday, 23rd March via Caroline Australia.
