Alt-J have delivered another new song off their forthcoming third album Relaxer.
‘In Cold Blood’ is the second song to be released from the record, following on from the album opener ‘3WW’.
This one is far more accessible than its predessecor, coming in strong with a blaring horn section, creating an intensity that we haven’t heard from them yet.
The track is the second song on the eight track album which will be released on 2nd June, a week earlier than first planned.
“The brass was recorded at Abbey Road; the keyboards were done on a Casiotone that cost £1.05 on eBay; and no-one is quite sure where the key change came from,” the band wrote about the song on their Instagram.
It’s their first record since 2014’s This Is All Yours which was nominated for a Grammy.
