Sticky Fingers - Land Of Pleasure

Sticky Fingers - Land Of Pleasure

Written by Shane Arnold on 4th August, 2014

One of Sydney’s hottest bands right now, Sticky Fingers have upped the ante on Land Of Pleasure, their follow-up to last year’s tremendous debut, Caress Your Soul. This is the Sticky Fingers you know and love – seriously funked-up rockin’ reggae party tunes.

Slicker and more cohesive than Caress Your Soul, this is an album full of good vibes. Opening track Land Of Pleasure gently pulls you in with its reggae psychedelia, before Feast Your Eyes really gets the party started. It’s a feeling that permeates the entire album. Sticky Fingers give the impression of a fun band full of ups and downs, completely unpretentious, with an eclectic but infectious sound.

For such an exceptionally hard-working touring band, it is a little surprising that Sticky Fingers found the time to write and record such a fine album. Full marks to the lads for the effort – it has paid off in spades. Look no further than the wicked beats of Fake A Smile and the feel-good thump of Just For You. The anthemic If You Go is also a stunner, with a soaring chorus and thick bass line. Meanwhile, Dreamland will have you reclining in a hammock and singing along in no time.

The fantastic duality of Land Of Pleasure is that it’s simultaneously the perfect soundtrack for an evening chilling in the backyard or for cranking up a house party where good tunes always equal good times. Sticky Fingers have done it again by cooking up a simply delicious mix of rock, reggae and electronica. Their huge national tour kicks off next month, so get your tickets fast as they’ll surely be selling out everywhere.
