With 29 mixtapes, four EP's, two collaboration albums and numerous accolades under his belt, YoungstaCPT is regarded as one of the most important South African emcees of his generation.

What makes YoungstaCPT unique in the South African hip hop landscape is the content of his music. He is a storyteller who brings his view of his beloved home town to the surface. He describes his sound as 'Kaapstad' which translates to Cape Town. His word play is witty and laced for the South African ear to appreciate by sticking to his natural way of communicating that is synonymous with what one would expect of a Cape Coloured.

"If you have ever been to Cape Town you can listen to any of my music and you will understand me and the place I grew up in...I am like your unofficial tour guide.

I am not going to take you to Table Mountain with a cable car, but I will take you via another angle... a side that you have never been to before. I'll give you the other view and perspective of where I am from.

To have so much content around you all the time while growing up in Cape Town, as a result my style is different, my tone is different because the slang that we use is different... I don't sound like any other rapper.

His experience in life, combined with what he sees on the streets is what creates a long-lasting impression on his supporters. His devotion to Cape Town and eagerness to have the city grow bigger on the map is what generates a similar passion in others to be proud of where they come from, and where their foundation will always remain.

"Listening to his music is like having the inside of your forehead turn into an Imax theatre as his lyrics construct a visual performance of words to glimpse into part of Cape Town that most people are not familiar with involving his listeners to feel a part of the world that he comes from." - Engrave Magazine

His recent trip to Australia saw him as a standout at Secret Garden Festival wowing festival goers and he is ready to do it all over again at The Plot.

"A highlight of the festival was the only international act on the line-up. South African Youngsta CPT (with the CPT standing for Cape Town) took to the Wrangler Pub stage and blew our inebriated minds. His raps were delivered with spitting intensity..." - themusic.com.au
