SYDNEY, 4 January 2016: Chris Lilly, executive chef of the world-renowned Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q restaurants in Alabama, winner of multiple World Championships and one of the most respected pitmasters in America will be teaming up with Luke Powell and the team at LP's Quality Meats for an evening of barbecue, brews, and some old-fashioned Alabama hospitality, as part of the Yak Ales Sydney Barbecue Festival.

Lilly is also head chef of the award-winning Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q Competition Cooking Team, which has won 15 World Championships across several barbecue categories, and a record four Memphis in May Grand Championships (2000, 2003, 2011, and 2014). With Chris at the helm, the team also won the American Royal Invitational in 2004. In 2012, he won the title of "King of the Smokers" at a national barbecue Invitational.

Lilly and Powell will collaborate on a four-course sharing menu featuring some of LP's signature smoked meats and Lilly's Alabama barbecue classics, and beverages by Yak Ales and Pepperjack Wines. This is the only official dinner being held as part of the Yak Ales Sydney Barbecue Festival, so get in quick, places are limited.
