Will Chittick and the Male Gaze cordially invite you to an evening
showcasing some excellent underexposed talent from Sydney and
Wollongong this July 20 at Rad Bar, Wollongong. Will Chittick has
been a regular fixture at Rad bar since its humble beginnings as Yours
and Owls in 2011 and has chosen the venue to introduce his new band
the Male Gaze. The male gaze is penetrating, longing and transforms
its subject into a sexual object for its own pleasure. It is a widow
of one-way glass that masks a conundrum of vulnerability and
inadequacy corrosive as battery acid. Will Chittick wants to turn the
lights on inside, laying his own experience bare to shine a light on
the male gaze with humour and alacrity, turning the gaze upon himself
to interrogate his own motivations and desires. Weaving threads
between his earlier psychedelic rock inclinations and his expanding
repertoire of folk inspired ballads, each song is a story and
experience contained in itself.
