Adding to their already announced Falls Festival performances this December and January, LA noise pop outfit Wavves today announce that they will take their fuzzed-out sound to Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory and Melbourne’s Max Watt’s for headline shows on Saturday 2nd January and Sunday 3rd January.

The brainchild of front-man Nathan Williams, Wavves have graced Australian shores no less than three times, taking the stage at some of the nation's biggest festivals including Splendour In The Grass and Groovin' The Moo, alongside their own national headline dates. On their fourth Australian visit, Wavves will be riding the musical high, fresh from the launch of their fifth studio album V and raring to unleash their brand new tunes full-throttle in the live arena.

Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Woody Jackson (Primal Scream, Tenacious D, Beck, Daniel Johnston), V - released 2 October in Australia - sees the band move into more mature, slightly hopeful slacker territory. It is Wavves' most democratic release to date, with members Stephen Pope (bass) and Alex Gates (guitar) contributing to the writing process alongside Williams on the twelve-track LP.

The album's lead single 'Way Too Much' is a guitar-fuelled indie surf-pop jam; SPIN describes it as "more of the same wiry riffery that's become (Wavves') trademark over the past few years". Watch the 'Way Too Much' video here.

Wavves' 2013 release Afraid Of Heights received critical acclaim from music press across the globe, with NME describing the record as "the ballsy twisted screech of a deranged finger-biter" and US Rolling Stone saying: "Frequent Nirvana echoes flirt with overkill. But no one has ever channeled that band's bubblegum nihilism better."

Known for their wild on-stage presence and fuzzy rock throw-downs, Wavves are one of the most exciting acts to emerge from LA recently.
