Vegans in Furs is the newest monthly band night happening at OAF Gallery on the first Friday of each month. Egg Nest Music and Oxford Art Factory have teamed up to put together a night focused on Sydney and Australia’s low-fi/dolewave acts.

The focus of this night is to target bands that might be side-solo projects and don't get the opportunity to play. It seems to be a pretty common thing in this micro-scene. Most members are begged, borrowed and stolen from numerous other bands. The June line up has just been announced with Melbourne slackers Honey Badgers, Sydney political rockers Shearin, Richard Cuthbert and Pan Pacific Grand Prix.

Melbourne slackers Honey Badgers sprung into life at their spiritual home and late-night institution: Pony (R.I.P). Stocked with a taut rhythm section, squalling lead guitar, and unadulterated lyrics, the band went to work on Melbourne's pubs. In 2015 they released a covers cassette, and are set to launch their new EP 'lovers' at Vegans in Furs

Shearin' are a band consisting of lads from the Inner West of Sydney. The band's music romantically transcribes a utopia from a distant dream on an outback Summer's day. Sounds from a lone hills hoist squeaking in the wind or a solitary fly encircling in sync with the ceiling fan. It critiques local culture, politics and a city going down the gurgler.....This is the language they speak, to the untold generation they play

Richard Cuthbert 3 (RC3) is one project from an old love of the Sydney songwriting scene, Richard Cuthbert (Richard In your Mind, Cuthbert & The Nightwalkers). Richie and lads will be bringing their lovely backyard aussie low-fi pop

Pan Pacific Grand Prix is the latest project from Ross Tipper (Little Bastard, Achoo! Bless you). His garage-folk-cynical-poetry seeps heartfelt honesty. New single 'Everything is Awful' is out now.
