The magic and entertainment of “The Doors” are returning to The Basement Sydney on Friday 27 January 2017 in an interactive and engaging musical showcase that will transport you back in time. “Unlocking the Doors” – The Australian Doors Experience is a grandstand of music, poetry and drama, that is genuinely all things “Doors”.

Particular attention has been paid to replicate both the style and sound of each band member and absolutely nothing is recorded. Everything is live and the band delivers an authentic sound and a powerhouse performance.

The Doors were among the most controversial, influential and unique rock acts of the 1960's and beyond, mostly because of Morrison's wild, poetic lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. "Unlocking the Doors" highlights the band's chaotic magnetism in a multi-media performance bound to surprise and delight. This unique show takes a holistic and creative approach to your average concert and encapsulates more of what this iconic band was about. Between the musical sets are poetry readings and a number of sequences from Jim's post death poetry album, 'An American Prayer', which was released by the surviving members. Additionally, the audience can expect the drama and suspense of what Jim used to bring with genuine outbursts and engaging behavior from the legend himself.

The show has gained momentum since their launch in Wollongong on 1 August 2015 and a reputation as a showcase not to be missed with a following that is rapidly building throughout Sydney and along the east coast of NSW.

The Plate & Glass meal includes one meal option with one glass of selected wine which will be made available at the Green Room Bar from the time doors open through to 10:30pm.

Dinner & Show tickets include entry, seating and 2 course meal.

Dinner & Show tickets are only available via Moshtix.

Some Dinner & Show Bookings may be on a shared table. Please let us know at the time of the booking as a special request should you prefer not to share, and subject to availability we'll do our best to accommodate your request. Note it is not possible to join ticket holders together across ticket groups (meaning A Reserve ticket holders cannot sit with B Reserve etc).

The Basement has very limited accessibility for patrons with disabilities, however please contact the venue to ensure there is adequate availability for you to enjoy the show comfortably and they can advise on the recommended seating options.

Specific table reservation is not available for this performance. It is the venue's decision as to which table you will be allocated. Whilst the venue would love to give everyone their preferred seats, it is not always possible. We ask that you respect this decision and enjoy the performance.
