Transcontinental Vibrations presents one of Melbourne's great soul bands: PHAT SPARROW with Mimi Zaetta-Thomas on Saturday the 14th of January at the Night Cat.  

PHAT SPARROW featuring Mimi Zaetta-Thomas Phat Sparrow are a Soul, Gospel, R&B, Funk, Organ trio that is quickly becoming one of Melbourne's most recognised and sought after groups. They draw inspiration from great artists such as; Soulive, D'Angelo, Jill Scott, Chris Dave and Eryka Badu. Unparalleled in their originality and musicianship, Phat Sparrow, comprising of Kim Kelaart (Kate Cebrano) on Hammond organ, Gillan Gregory (Strange Talk) on guitar and Leigh Fisher (Gypsy and the Cat, M-Phazes) on drums, will leave you musically inspired.  

Fronting the ensemble is esteemed vocalist, Mimi Zaetta-Thomas, (Mietta, The Black Sorrows.) Zaetta-Thomas has been a recognised and respected part of the Melbourne music scene for the better part of 15 years, and is truly in her element fronting Phat Sparrow.
