Canadian Folk duo, Tomato Tomato.
The pride of New Brunswick, Canada - Tomato Tomato, are Lisa and John McLaggan. The duo use an old washboard; rigged up with tin cans and a cymbal, while bass and snare drums are foot powered. Harmonies, old-timey guitar, contagious songs and up-cycled percussion create an unmistakable sound, endearing them to not just Atlantic Canada but the folk world at large.
The Winnipeg, Stan Rogers and Lunenburg Folk Festivals and Australia Music Week were 2016 highlights. This year they performed at Folk Alliance and are heading back to Australia for The Broadbeach Country Music Festival, touring the UK for two weeks in the fall, with appearances at The Regina and Vancouver Folk Festivals and much more. You just can't keep a good washboard down!
