Sydney four-piece Tin Sparrow will be unveiling their new single 'Hector Myola', at Spectrum, Wednesday 16 November. The last four months for Tin Sparrow's Matt Amery, Mark Piccles, Dean McLeod and Sonja Van Hummel have been eventful to say the least...
From a sold out debut EP launch in July, to constant national airplay, securing an international synch for Grey's Anatomy, and landing the main support spot for Huskys national album tour in November.
To record their new EP (due our in early 2012), the quartet travelled to Cairns to work with Mark Myers of the recently disbanded The Middle East. The yet-to-be-titled release promises Tin Sparrows trademark vocal harmonies, but with a rawer, more organic sound. Matt Amery, lead singer and songwriter said, I have always liked bands with great harmonies like Fleetwood Mac, The Beach Boys, The Band, Crosby Stills Nash and Young.
Moving in more of a spaghetti western/alt-country direction than their indie-folk debut From The Sun, new single Hector Myola the first to be taken from their forthcoming EP immediately transports you to a time of gold rushes and fisticuffs.
Opening support: Emma Davis
Main Support: March Of The Real Fly
