Melbourne composer Tilman Robinson presents 'Deer Heart', his second full-length, in a haze of distortion and hypnotic layers. 'Deer Heart' integrates ethereal multi-instrumental resonance, dynamic percussion and fastidious production in telling a story that spans three continents. This live presentation of the album, performed with an ensemble of some of Australia's best instrumentalists, takes the music out of the studio and delivers quasi-improvised reflections on the material.

Recorded at Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavik and mixed by Valgeir Sigur sson (Björk, Ben Frost, Nico Muhly etc.), 'Deer Heart' finds Tilman elevating his sound into an unlikely mix of optimism and nihilism via dark sonic crevices. Described by The Sunday Times (London) as "addictive", it is an album of depth and complexity; a record equally at home on the shelves of the most avid post-rock fan as it would in the ranks of any modern-composer collection.

On the night Matthias Schack-Arnott (of Speak Percussion) will present the Melbourne premiere of 'Fault Traces', an experimental percussion solo that uses waves of deep bass to create seething vibrational textures on found objects. Hailed by The Guardian as 'visually and sonically exquisite'.
