Acclaimed Melbourne quartet The Teskey Brothers are bringing their bluesy soul sounds to Melbourne Zoo to cut the ribbon on the 2018 Zoo Twilights concert series with support from Saskwatch.
After eight years cutting their teeth in Melbourne pubs and backyard party jams, The Teskey Brothers now sell out consecutive headline shows and grace stages across some of the country's best music festivals. Brothers Sam and Josh Teskey discovered American soul music of the 1960's via their parents' record collection and were immediately taken - they devoured the R&B songbook and relentlessly absorbed the tricks of the blues trade.
Honouring the old school Motown and working it into something of their very own, The Teskey Brothers have stunned audiences around the country in 2017 with their debut album 'Half Mile Harvest'. Upon hearing the record, you'd be forgiven for thinking the tracks were cut straight out of Memphis circa '67, rather than a group of twenty-somethings from the Yarra Valley.
Joining The Teskey Brothers is Melbourne six-piece soul band Saskwatch. Cooking for nearly eight years now, the seasoned performers are celebrating their fourth album 'Manual Override', which was just released in August 2017. Saskwatch make their welcome return to Zoo Twilights after opening for the late great Charles Bradley in the 2014 series.
