The Spotted Mallard lights up for another star-studded night as we welcome The Sonoran Dogs from the USA with Pete Fidler & Jacob McGuffie and Suzette Herft.

THE SONORAN DOGS (USA)
with Pete Fidler & Jacob McGuffie and Suzette Herft.

Formed in 2011, the Sonoran Dogs have exploded upon the US bluegrass scene, performing at many bluegrass festivals around the US, including headline performances at the Prescott Bluegrass Festival and the Tuscon Folk Festival.

The group is made up of seasoned and award winning veterans who have toured nationally and internationally with their various bands - Peter McLaughlin (National Flatpicking Guitar Championship 1988); Mark Miracle (Telluride Band Championship 2000); Tyler James (Rockygrass Banjo Championship 2008; National Banjo Championship 2010) who have come together to enjoy bluegrass music and friendship. Bruce Packard from Melbourne (Coolgrass) will be joining them on double bass as they tour Australia.

Their first CD was released on Dog Boy Records in September, 2014 and includes a collection of original compositions, traditional bluegrass standards, new-grass, and Americana. Their second CD is slated for release in 2016 just in time for their upcoming Australian tour.

The Sonoran Dogs play a collection of traditional bluegrass standards, new-grass, and original compositions in a fun and dynamic show.
