A long time coming? After twenty years and five albums, Melbourne's alt-country bluegrass band the Pheasant Pluckers have morphed into 'The Pheasantry'. With a self-titled album of originals in hand the boys enter a new phase. Where this new phase leads is for all to find out. But for now it's the beginning.
The album includes guests Danny McKenna on drums, Ed Bates on pedal steel, Ian Trit with his mandolin and fiddle and Marise Ludekens with some sweet backing vocals. It took two very satisfying years to record and promises to be the first of many albums to come from The Pheasantry.

A launch not to be missed with support from James Stewart and his Four Door Shit Box promoting everything Telecaster and no doubt playing songs from his very clever and recently released solo album 'Carcane'.

The Pheasantry album has gone a bit electric here and there. With Dan Kerr being an electric guitar player at heart, it was inevitable. Pete Somerville on banjo gets a rush out of it so why not? Rod Boothroyd and his upright bass would never argue and the vocal harmonies of Matt and Keith are firing.

Don't worry - the Pheasantry's love of acoustic instruments will be honoured in the first set, followed by a full band outro. This will be a great night of music.

CD's for the ticket bundles can be collected on the night at the merch table.
