After the success of breakthrough singles Krakow and Oceans, The Owls are finally set to release their highly anticipated third EP Own The Streets. The six-track EP (produced by Lachlan Mitchell) is a prodigious leap forward sonically and hails a new era for the Newcastle four-piece.

After releasing their sophomore EP Swamp Love in 2012, the band quickly began building a league of fans across the country and interest from key industry tastemakers, including a 4-star review from Richard Kingsmill for their single Better Off Deaf and a huge list of reputable support slots including The Cribs, The Jezabels, DZ Deathrays, and Ball Park Music. After an extensive run of shows supporting the EP, the band decided to hunker down and hone their songwriting for the follow up release.

Emerging after a long self-imposed exile of discovery, The Owls stand poised to cement themselves as sonic architects. Their first single Krakow hailed praise from bloggers, triple j DJs and community radio stations around the country, taking listeners into a jagged soundscape of brooding bass and guitar riffs. The second taste of their EP came in the form of Ocean, with tricky tempo shifts and a gutsy blues-driven core, the track showcases the band's song writing maturity and was added to rotation on triple j.

Own The Streets represents the continuing evolution of The Owls sound and their transformation into a formidable sonic beast.
