Welcome the New Year on Cockatoo Island!

Managed by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, Cockatoo Island is one of the best places in Sydney to watch the world-famous New Year's Eve fireworks. Enjoy a relaxing evening with friends and family, while avoiding the crowds, long walks or traffic jams at other Sydney Harbour viewing points.

It's not all about the fireworks though with a range of kids activities and special guided tours there is always something to do. And it's not all just about the activities either we have a range of specialty food and beverage stalls to cater for your needs and music to carry you through to the evening.

There's always intense demand for New Year's Eve accommodation on Cockatoo Island so make sure you don't miss out by booking your camping and glamping packages and camping sites today.

Cockatoo Island is ideally located to enjoy the fireworks on both the Harbour Bridge (4 km away) and the western fireworks barge, which is located immediately in front of the island's Eastern Apron.

After the fireworks, just head back to your tent for a good night's sleep - there's no crowds, traffic or long walks to deal with. You will have a hassle-free New Year's Eve in a family-friendly environment! Enjoy a leisurely ferry ride home on New Year's Day or turn your stay into a real camping holiday and stay longer on Cockatoo Island.

The NYE Experience on Cockatoo Island
In 2015/16, the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust is offering:

- one-night and two-night packages, arriving on either 30 or 31 December 2015 and departing 1 January 2016

2 Night Packages are for the nights of Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st of December.

1 Night packages are for Thursday the 31st of December.

Additional nights either side of this can be booked at www.cockatooisland.gov.au if you want to extend you stay outside your Moshtix booking.

There are 3 different levels of camping and also a selection of areas to choose from please refer to the map for these locations.

- bar facilities, (no alcohol can be brought onto the island)

- Behind the doors tours of Cockatoo Island

Full payment is required at the time of booking.
No refunds or changes to bookings are permitted.

(2.4m x 2.4m hennie dome tent) includes: site, tent, 2 sleeping mats, 2 chairs

Parking Sites - $90

Parking is at our Site at Hunters Hill, next to the Hunters Hill Sailing club. We will provide water taxi transfer to the island from the parking area and also return you to the same location on New Year's Day.

This service is only available to arrivals from 12noon - 5pm on the 30th and from 9am - 6pm on the 31st December.

Return shuttles be available from 7am - 12noon on the 1st January.

The shuttle is only available to campers who have parked their vehicle in our car park.

Car Parking is valid for the length of your Moshtix booking.

Parking is limited, so get in quick! Each Carpark ticket is limited to one car and up to 6 persons. If you have additional people or cars you will need to book multiple tickets for car parking /shuttle.

Important Notice:

ALL PEOPLE UNDER 18 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. INFANTS UNDER ONE YEAR FREE.

Check in & check out times

30th December - Check in will commence from 11.00am. No arrivals accepted after 6.45pm.

31st December - Check in will commence from 9.00am - all sites must be set up by 6.00pm.

Check out is until 12.00pm on New Year's Day

Check in Time:
People who have purchased the one night ticket can check in from the 31st December from 9am - all sites must be set up by 6.00pm there are no arrivals permitted after this time.

People who have purchased the two night ticket can check in from 30th December from 11.00 am. No arrivals accepted after 6.45pm

Check Out Time:
New Years Day 12noon

*** Please note it is essential to bring your moshtix ticket to the event to avoid hassles with ferry transport and event entry. ***

Please remember that tickets do NOT include ferry transport. Transport tickets need to be purchased through Sydney Ferries outlets.
