The Kadam family leaves India for France where they open a restaurant directly across the road from Madame Mallory's Michelin-starred eatery.
Adapted from Richard C Morais' book. The Mumbai-based Kadam family have a history of running successful restaurants in their native city but events conspire to make them contemplate life in Europe. England is too cold, but the South of France beckons, and it just so happens that Papa (Om Puri) is particularly taken with a property in Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val which just happens to be exactly opposite a one Michelin star restaurant run by Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren). His son Hassan is the key to the family's success. The rivalry between the two restaurants is sometimes ugly, and sometimes remarkably friendly.
