Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba are the West London jazz-rap innovators whose discography and contribution to the UK music scene in the 90's can literally be described as enormous.

The Herbaliser have been Ninja Tune stalwarts ever since their 1995 debut album Remedies announced them as a serious alternative to the mod-esque acid jazzers and bug-eyed big beaters of the day. Their signing to Coldcut's prestigious label propelled the mix of breaks, jazz, rare groove and hip hop fusion that The Herbaliser did so well into the main vein of the masses.

Their tracks featured such impressive talent as Jean Grae, Roots Manuva, MF Doom and DJ Food, well before these artists became prolific household names.

Having just released their seventh studio album, There Were Seven, on their own Department H label, The Herbaliser DJs are headed south for a string of Australian festival and club dates this summer. More than 18 years into their musical journey, There Were Seven marks the start of a whole new chapter for Ollie and Jake. The Herbaliser have never sounded better. Get along to their only Sydney show to see hip hop done in another way.
