LOOKING FOR LOVE? JINJA SAFARI, OPOSSOM AND WHITE ARROWS GET AQUAINTED ON THE BLIND DATE TOUR

ATTRACTIVE traveler seeks true love. Must have a excellent taste in music. Be from Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney or Brisbane. Be available in August for a blind date. Strangers to dance floors need not apply.

August is set to have the nation coming together for an all-in blind date when three bands get to know each other whilst blazing a trail across seven cities, including one very special Under 18s show in Melbourne. New Zealand's Opossom, Los Angeles' White Arrows and Australia's very own Jinja Safari are combing their hair, shining their shoes and putting on their Sunday best for a triple-headline tour that is sure to spark some long-term relationships with fans.

Our favourite party starters Jinja Safari are very pleased to be joining The Blind Date Tour. As way of a welcoming corsage (the kind you take home to your mother) the band have a brand new track to get you shaking. 'Toothless Grin' premiered Wednesday night this week on triple j. Although Australia has been pining for their live antics, don't expect any cobwebs with the band recently getting the UK and North America on board their safari. Trend setting NYC label Neon Gold called their shows at this year's Great Escape Festival in the UK a 'bristling force of nature'. BBC1's Rob Da Bank also jumped on the bandwagon, naming the group a 'cosmic pop safari'. The band have plans to return to the UK, as they were hand-picked for Bestival in September later this year, but not before reminding Australia why the are one-of-a-kind on the Blind Date Tour.

For Kody Neilson, the mastermind behind Opossom, music is in each step, each breath and every waking moment. The ten tracks on debut album "Electric Hawaii" are testament to Neilson's devotion to music. Following the acclaim for his previous incarnation as the singer of The Mint Chicks, the New Zealand born producer, writer and performer, now delivers a rolling debut, drenched in groove-laden psychedelia. The home-recorded album is box fresh released today! It features as album packet on Sydney's FBI radio and with singles like 'Getaway Tonight' and 'Blue Meanies', who would expect any less. Tackling topics of love, drugs with a little DIY, Opossom will take fellow blind-daters on a pulsing rollercoaster when he brings "Electric Hawaii"to life on the stage.

Rounding off this triple bill is Los Angeles' White Arrows. Dizzying new single 'Roll Forever' saw the band take on the UK with their storming live set. With a show compared by the Daily Post as being led into "a cul-de-sac of orgasmic, sweet indie-synth-psychedelic pop" that "blow(s) our tiny little mind". Those keen to join the Blind Date will have a sneak peak of just what White Arrows are capable of when they release their RAC produced debut album "Dry Land Is Not A Myth" on June 22.

The Blind Date Tour will go on sale Thursday 7th June, 10am. Be sure to get in on all the action: Opossom's "Electric Hawaii" is out today via Create/Control. White Arrows' "Dry Land Is Not A Myth" is out June 22 via Dew Process. Listen out for Jinja Safari's new single 'Toothless Grin' on your airwaves!
