Mad Racket is proud to present the debut Sydney show by The Black Madonna, direct from Chicago. One of the more inspiring characters in dance music today, The Black Madonna is uncompromising, intellectual and true to the roots of house music. Involved in dance music for over 20 years, the last few have seen her rise to international prominence thanks to some tasty productions and lauded DJ sets. Her residency at Chicago's legendary Smart Bar has grown into her becoming the talent booker for the club, allowing her to further push the limits of house music and queer partying in the Windy City.

Podcasts for Little White Earbuds and Beats In Space have helped spread the word and The Black Madonna is now a regular guest across Europe, including leading clubs such as Berlin's Panorama Bar and Concrete Paris. The Black Madonna also gives a great interview, and is a sharp instrument in the sometimes blunt and bland toolbox of dance music. She's not afraid to tell it as she sees it, calling out homophobia, racism and crap music as she sees fit, while also reminding us of the sheer pleasure and freedom of dancing for the sake of dancing. We are really very excited to host her under the copper ceiling!!
