Melbourne trio Teeth and Tongue are hitting the Hume to play with Sydney's dreamiest, Songs
Catch Teeth & Tongue playing their last Sydney show for the year at Goodgod Small Club in Sydney on Friday 2 December. Teeth & Tongue is the musical project of Jess Cornelius, together with long-time collaborator Marc Regueiro-Mckelvie (guitar) and Damian Sullivan (bass). Armed simply with an old 505 drum machine and an electric guitar, Jess Cornelius weaves her songs through pared‐back rhythms and hypnotic guitar lines, creating a diverse and layered sound with dark and mysterious undertones. Recorded with Simon Grounds (Kes Band, Laura Jean, Bird Blobs), Tambourine is out now via Dot Dash / Remote Control. Tambourine is the follow up to Teeth & Tongue's acclaimed debut album Monobasic.Released in 2008, Monobasic combined elements of pop, garage and post-punk with metronomic precision and haunting vocals. Teeth & Tongue went on to be profiled as a triple j Next Crop artist (2009), and performed at the Falls and Laneway festivals. Teeth & Tongue has also had the pleasure to perform in Australia with The Dodos (USA), Juana Molina (Argentina), Grant Hart of Husker Du (USA), The Mountain Goats (USA), The Duke Spirit (UK), Jonneine Zapata (USA) and The Drones, and in Europe with Lydia Lunch (USA), Dawn Landes (USA) and These Are Powers (USA). With an all new line-up featuring Max Doyle (guitar/vocals), Ela Stiles (bass/vocals), Cameron Emerson-Elliott (guitar), Ben James (drums) and Jules Ferrari (keys), Songs return for their first Sydney show in like forever. Songs are currently writing their highly-anticipated second album and are headed for the studio in January 2012 to begin recording. Until then, you can get a taste of what's in store on the record with new single Heavy, available now on iTunes. Check Teeth & Tongue and Songs together in Sydney this December.
