Two legendary 80s Australian rock outfits Sunnyboys and Painters and Dockers are set to grace the stage for a rare performance at Zoo Twilights this February.

Born out of Sydney in 1980, Sunnyboys are one of Australia's most enduring and special bands. Making their mark with classic hits 'Alone With You' and 'Happyman', the band sadly announced their split after a brief but highly charged original career of just four years. Now six years after they reformed, Sunnyboys 2.0 have notched up a resume the envy of any band - contemporary or vintage - with a succession of sold-out shows including the iconic Sydney Opera House, plus (many multiple times over) in Melbourne, Byron Bay, Perth and more. In 2013, the feature-length documentary 'The Sunnyboy' about the turbulent life of singer, guitarist and songwriter Jeremy Oxley received a national theatre release to a hugely emotional response.

The 2017 edition of Sunnyboys - featuring original members Jeremy Oxley, Peter Oxley, Richard Burgan and Bil Bilson - have long surpassed the bright-eyed young men who burned so brightly back in the eighties, and they are now back to doing what they do best - playing live.

"Many acts make comebacks, more now than ever in fact, but I can't remember feeling so much love in a room for an Australian band that, like its audience, was reliving its glorious youth. It was a fantastic experience." - Iain Shedden / The Australian, Sydney Opera House Review

Iconic Melbourne rockers Painters and Dockers formed in 1983 with the sole intention of playing one show - to help raise cash so their mate from the Cosmic Psychos could pay off some parking fines. 1500 shows, seven albums and an induction into The Age's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later, Painters and Dockers have an esteemed place in Australian rock history and will join Sunnyboys for a soon to be legendary night at Melbourne Zoo.
