Astral People, V Movement, FBi Radio and THUMP are proud to present Summer Dance - a series of outdoor parties in the heart of Sydney. In 2017, Astral People will once again be delivering an exceptionally-curated Sunday series amongst the leafy and intimate surrounds of the National Art School.

For the third year running the renowned Sydney-based artist management and touring company Astral People have secured a line-up of internationally acclaimed artists alongside championing local talent across a diverse array smooth house, emotionally connective techno and electronica to deliver the perfect soundtrack to a blissful Sunday.

For the first in the series on Sunday 22nd January Summer Dance are pleased to announce a globe spanning line up featuring UK's Palm Trax, Melbourne's Roland Tings (DJ Set), Sweden's Kornel Kovacs, and local contingent in Sydney's Andy Garvey and Lauren Hansom.

Palms Trax, the illustrious Bristol via Berlin producer and DJ, is set to sear the summer heat with his playful, melody-infused take on vintage Chicago house and late '80s Nu Groove. What began as an experiment in pad-driven Detroit workouts soon became Palms Trax's calling card, the young producer building valve-heated, dust-treated slabs of house in his home studio, shot through with melodic synths and smooth, undulating drum patterns that recall the likes of Legowelt, John Heckle, Tevo Howard, and Nu-Groove era Burrell Brothers. He has released on London-based imprint Lobster Theremin and Dekmantel.

Fresh from his North American tour supporting Chrome Sparks and Rufus, and his new track 'Eyes Closed' taking over the airwaves and internet alike, Melbourne-based Roland Tings and his late night reputation for making smart dance music to stay up till sunrise has been a long awaited guest for Summer Dance. After releasing his debut EP on infamous label 100% Silk, Tings has gone from strength to strength, putting out releases on Norwegian label Internasjonal, as well as scooping a triple j Feature Album. His multifaceted live shows illustrate the extent of his talents, full of drum machines and synth modules that showcase his big kicks, heavy percussion and acidic house.

Summer Dance is also proud to present the debut Sydney appearance of one of StudioBarnhus founders - the enigmatic Stockholm-based producerKornel Kovacs. The label and DJ trio is spearheading a new era of fearless Swedish off-centre dance music, and Kov cs' latest album 'The Bells' has skyrocketed him to the forefront of the European scene. On top of a compelling nod to past material, the record still manages to put forth asizeable dose of new sounds, textures, and moods. Those willing to take the plunge into Kornel Kovacs' alluring, expansive, meticulously-orchestrated world, may find themselves unable to leave.

An electronic music specialist at FBi Radio, Andy Garvey is the individual behind the weekly radio show 'Pure Space.' With her finger firmly of the pulse of the local and international dance music community, Andy introduces some of the world's most interesting international and local acts to Sydney airwaves. Joining Andy will be fellow host on FBi Radio, and Condesa alumni, Lauren Hansom. As well as her highly regarded show 'Spin The Bottle', Lauren is now making a name for herself as an intuitive, talented DJ across Sydney supporting artists like Prequel, Late Night Tuff Guy, Noise In My Head and Steve Spacek. She's also kept herself busy by doing the rounds at parties like Lost Weekend, Chubby! and coveted festival spots like Splendour In The Grass.

Stay tuned to FBi Radio and THUMP for the next announce of Summer Dance 2017.
