This is The Met and we have a big fffflippin announcement; Steve Aoki, October 11, Australian Tour. The power is yours....
"I'm a time traveling, speed reading, fortune telling, scuba diving, multi-tasking, poker playing fan of life." - Steve Aoki
Oh, and he forgot to mention one of the world's most successful DJ/Producers!
A man who certainly needs no introduction, Steve Aoki is without a doubt at the top of his game. Arguably, no producer has done more to raise the international profile of Los Angeles underground electronic music than Steve Aoki, and, with his latest full-length LP release, WONDERLAND (Out via Liberator music), it seems the man is hell-bent on world (musical) domination.
The thing that strikes you first about WONDERLAND is the album's dizzying diversity. Not only does he manage to seamlessly fuse a stunning array of genres, he's enlisted some of the world's most popular artists in the process. WONDERLAND boasts collaborations with Chiddy Bang & Lil Jon, LMFAO & NERVO [[[zuper blahq]]] aka will.i.am, Lovefoxxx (CSS), Travis Barker (Blink 182), Angger Dimas, Wynter Gordon and Kid Cudi (just to name a few).
"This album is a collection of singles with all different kinds of songs....I wanted this album to show all the different kinds of production sounds I can do" - Steve Aoki
And show them he did! The result is a force to be reckoned with.
It's been a busy, well decade for the powerhouse that is Steve Aoki. And things don't look to be slowing down anytime soon! Playing on average 250 shows per year, there's no denying that he is a certified master of his craft.
Already having dazzled audiences on some of the workd's biggest stages this year (from Belgium's Tomorrowland to Miami's annual Ultra Music Festival), Aoki is set to bring his show back to Australia for the first time in almost 2 years with a run of headline shows in October.
If Aoki's past appearances on the line-up of several Future Music Festivals is anything to go by, this show will be huge!
