Soulnation To transform Astor Lounge In Pre-Xmas Bash

UK-based band Randa And The Soul Kingdom headlines groovy 70's, 80's party

The iconic Astor Theatre Lounge will host a second edition of the classic, groovy party, Soulnation, in a Pre-Christmas bash to be held on Friday December 19, 2014.

Following the impressive success of the inaugural Soulnation in November, the holiday party will feature live music and DJs laying down the soul, funk, disco, and boogie grooves. The event will showcase popular entertainment originating from London with DJ Osric and DJ Marcus and will be headlined by Randa And The Soul Kingdom signed to London's Freestyle Records.

"We've been overwhelmed by the positive feedback following Soulnation's launch last month and are encouraged that so many of our fans are keen for more soul and funk music entertainment. Particularly pleasing was the togetherness of different age groups of people appreciating what Soulnation is trying to achieve and dancing to everything from Chic to Loose Ends to James Brown. We're aiming to provide an even bigger spectacle for them and the people of Perth who want an original alternative fixture on the Perth music/entertainment scene. It's going to be another enjoyable night," DJ Osric said.

The Soulnation event brings a classic mix of rhythms from the 70's and 80's in an exciting blend of soul classics, jazz funk, 2-step and boogie tunes. The event, scheduled to start at 8pm, will be reminiscent of the musical genius of artists such as Earth Wind and Fire, Patrice Rushen, Shalamar, Thelma Houston, Chic, Cheryl Lynn and Royalle Delite.

Sponsors include Angostura rum, LiQUORiCE.tv, and the newly formed Perth Caribbean Association.
