Small Mercies may be from Brisbane but in April they're headed for America! But the guys are going to miss their home country.

So as a bit of a going away gift to themselves they’ve booked The Ding Dong Lounge in Melbourne and asked their good friends Borne and Rubies & Rumours to come along for a fun night on April 19.

So why the trip overseas? Over the past six months the band have seen several tracks from their forthcoming debut album Beautiful Hum used in conjunction with television shows including Prison Break, The Real Seachange, Thank God You’re Here and RPA . Due to all the television synchronisation action the band received an invitation from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) to appear at film & TV music supervisor workshops in Los Angeles plus be among their special guest performers (which included John Mayer and Elvis Costello last year) at the TriBeCa Film Festival in New York. Add to that an opportunity to perform at The Rose Bowl in LA with Goo Goo Dolls, a slot at the prestigious MUSEXPO industry conference, some co-writing plus recording and it is going to be a very busy time before returning home to the release of their album on May 24 through SonyBMG.
