Simone & Girlfunkle, Michael Savage, The Sewing Room
Simone & Girlfunkle / Michael Savage launch Tickets
8:00pm, Fri 24 November, 2017
The Sewing Room, WA
Beloved local stalwarts Simone & Girlfunkle and pysch-pop auteur Michael Savage are launching new music together. The evening promises an absolute smorgasbord of hearty earworms in the Perth’s newest and most beautiful basement venue - The Sewing Room. Lush, reverb-soaked guitar and beautiful harmonies the mainstay, come join us as we launch our new hot, hot hits ‘Gary Song’ and ‘Nothing Good’ with absolute joy. Joining us are the Darling Singers with their beautiful acapella and incredible chanteuse, Joni In the Moon.
Simone & Girlfunkle's "Gary Song" is inspired by the upbeat-meets-melancholy vibe of bands like Alvvays. It's an ode to our dead best friends - our pets specifically, one very loving and loved, yet guitar-phobic feline: Gary.
Working again with producer Ricky Maymi (of The Brian Jonestown Massacre) in "Nothing Good" Michael Savage has crafted a slice of gorgeous, layered, pure-pop goodness. Live, you can expect something much the same: charismatic, cathartic, left-field but unashamedly crowd-pleasing powerful pop, delivered expertly by a bunch of familiar Perthband faces.
