Well, we all know it's been a cold wet winter and we like to think that here at Darkbeat we have done our little bit to keep you dancing and warm through the winter months with some hi-quality events. Finally Spring is here again and we have decided to celebrate this changing of season with a new concept in one of Melbourne's premier super clubs & what better way to launch this new concept then a killer Exclusive Extended Set from one of the world's most revered names in dance music.

We are very proud to bring you an artist who started one of the world's most influential labels in Yoshitoshi, toured the world as one half of the beloved Deep Dish (the original super star dance duo), recently played a legendary 10 hour stint at Warung Beach Club in Brazil to a sold out crowd of 4000 (2 hours of this set was featured on BBC1's Essential Mix) and also a former winner of the Essential Mix of the year (in 2009). We are pleased to welcome back SHARAM (USA) to Melbourne for the first time since his co-headline performance at Summadayze NYD 2010, alongside fellow heavy weights DANNY TENAGLIA (USA) & CARL COX (UK) on the MAIN STAGE (which made for one hell of a day)!

The Grammy Award winning producer's DJ sets follow the diversity of his productions skills. On one side he rocks a marathon underground set like his legendary 10 hour stint at Warung Beach Club in Brazil to a sold out crowd of 4000 (2 hours of Sharam's seminal live set was featured on his 2011 Essential Mix on BBC's Radio 1), and on the other side he can effortlessly entertain a diverse crowd of younger dance enthusiasts and VIPs in Vegas, Miami and Ibiza with a penchant for quality music that's engaging and entertaining, without compromising his art as a forward thinking DJ/Producer.

Already beyond well known for his role as part of the legendary DJ duo Deep Dish which brought the world huge hits like "Flashdance" and "Say Hello", he is also the driving force behind the legendary Yoshitoshi record label using it as a vehicle to promote newly discovered talent from around the world.

None of this would matter unless Sharam's music connected with people which it clearly does year after year in the world's largest music venues and radio stations around the world, while dance music purists continue to go crazy for his musical choice and mixing technique.



  DIBBY DOUGHERTY (IRE)

In January this year, the legendary dance music magazine Mixmag christened Dibby Dougherty as someone to 'Keep An Eye On' and its not difficult to see why. The previous 12 months have been exceptional for youthful Irishman Dibby Dougherty, his music has featured on honoured record labels such as Bedrock, Renaissance, Parquet, Natura Sonoris, Paradigma and Manual Records.

Continuing his bi-weekly residency at the notorious club night Yello in Belfast (*34 DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs 2011) and also consistently playing further afield, he is frequently seen pleasing crowds at clubs and festivals in Dubai, Hong Kong, New York, Mumbai, Argentina, Russia, Switzerland, Germany, Ukraine and the list goes on.

Defining his production style as "Energetic and twisted, but alive with emotion" - his distinct creations are constantly supported and charted by the likes of John Digweed, Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, John Tejada, Max Cooper, James Zabiela, Dubfire, Sasha and numerous others.

2012 has seen the launch of his DhARMA label, a home for Dibby's adoration of the more eclectic side of electronic music. Its not your conventional 'dance' label, it releases everything from orchestral and weird, to charming folk-tronica and synthesized pop music. The label has already seen huge props from BBC Radio and Mixmag, as well as having a remarkable DJ support list.
