Retro Rock n Roll Dance Classes kick off the night, with Sydney's Best Swing To It Sydney, who will get all Beginners Cutting a Rug from 7pm, then For Those Already In the Know, Intermediates will Rock it from 8pm. Joining the Stage and Keeping the Night Rocking from 8.30pm will be Sydneys Coolest Cats, The Dominos. Rock n Rollin Tuesdays At The Basement will Keep the Jive Alive!

The Dominos

The Dominos dig deep into the roots of rock'n'roll, old Soul and 1950's New Orleans Jump Jive.

Delivering high energy, irrepressibly cool and unquestionably raw jump jive dance experiences, The Dominos pomp high, dress fly and play hard. And scratching away the surface of this band reveals an entrenched love and knowledge of that authentic spark which flickers at the genesis of rock'n'roll, elevating them beyond the realm of the mere tribute and to a level that could sit comfortably amongst the kings - Fats Domino, Smiley Louis and co. Led by Adam Pringle and featuring a rotating case of some of Sydney's most celebrated world class players including Rob Woolf (King Tide), Ev Jones (Jones Jnr), Sam Bennett (Superheavyweights), Rowan Lane (Ray Beadle), Miles Thomas and many more, The Dominos are the real deal.

Swing To It Sydney

Swing To It Sydney are Sydney's specialists when it comes to Swing dancing. Swing dancing originated in the late 1930s and reached it's peak in the 1940s with Big Bands led by Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, and Count Basie. These Bands had the lads jumping and jiving in dance halls across the world.

Dance halls were the night clubs of the day and many had more than 1000 people swing dancing most nights of the week! To name a few, The Savoy Ballroom, The Cotton Club and The Trocadero are some of the legendary dance halls where Swing reigned supreme!!

Although the classic 40s era may be over, the music, dancing and fashion still lives on today! Some old timers even say that there are more people swing dancing worldwide today than back in the 40s. Neo-swing artists, such as Royal Crown Revue, Cherry Poppin Daddies and Michael Buble, have Swing music still hitting the charts today!

Swing To It Sydney specialise in teaching Lindy Hop (the most popular style of Swing dancing) as well as other styles like Collegiate Shag, St Louis Shag and Balboa. Whether you want to simply learn the ropes to Swing dancing or want to go all the way and become an advanced swing dancer, we can take you there.
