Ribongia

Ri· bon· gia noun (pronounced Ribonjia). Chaos; Pandemonium; Rowdiness; General Mischief: "The revellers entered the state of ribongia, and immersed themselves in the chaos that ensued." ORIGIN mid- 17th cent.: Florence, Italy. Slang meaning disarray.

Italian born, Sydney based producer Ribongia makes music to make you move.

Since emerging in 2014 with debut EP It Began, the Sydney- based producer has been making music like no other. His follow up and FBi Radio SMAC Awards Record Of The Year nominated EP ESCAPISMS gained the attention and support from international tastemakers NEST HQ and Pigeons & Planes, as well as local support from Pilerats, triple j and community radio nationwide.

Ribongia (real name Antonio) has now revealed the first taste of his forthcoming debut album due late 2017. Singles "We Run Tings" (featuring UK MC Footsie) and "Before The Winter" (featuring Jannah Beth and South Africa's "most prolific rapper", YoungstaCPT) showcase an afro- percussive palette laced with lush, organic sound design. A seamless blend of envelope- pushing production and deft pop sensibilities, Ribongia continues to draw on inspirations from native indigenous sounds from around the globe to create his own league of original and curious club music.

Fountaineer

Named for the fountain in the centre of Bendigo, marking the geographic heartland of Victoria, Fountaineer's view of their country town steadily growing into a city is at the heart of their song writing. From its origins as a gold rush outpost in the 1850's to the present day, Bendigo has a rich history that Fountaineer were perfectly positioned to interrogate.

Fountaineer's focus was on creating something that was empathetic no matter where a listener came from, drawing universal themes out of small town Australia. As much as the palm trees in the video for 'Still Life', which overlook an abandoned lot behind Anthony's house, are a specific reference to place, the touchstones of Fountaineer's music resonate far beyond their rural origins. Stories of a town where live music amounts to playing covers down the pub, where social networks are built through footy clubs, and where churches are still regularly attended are familiar to places in every corner of the globe. These are places stuck with one foot in a muddy past and not entirely willing to step out.

Moaning Lisa

Formed in April 2016, Moaning Lisa is made up of four under-motivated university students who find purpose in making loud noises together. Taking cues from the likes of Wolf Alice and Pixies, Moaning Lisa operate somewhere between composed restraint and fuzzed-out, life-affirming alternative rock.

Coming off an NLMA nomination and three singles in their first nine months as a band (including BMA Magazine's song of the year, 'Comfortable'), Moaning Lisa are set to release their debut EP "The Sweetest" on 24th of March, 2017. They back it all up with a masterful, raucus live show that won them 2016's National Campus Band Competition and sees them consistently pack out venues in their hometown.
