Plus, Q&A: Decolonizing Feminism: a fucking awkward conversation

Initiated in 2016 by PBS 106.7FM presenters Jess Fairfax and Leah Avene, the album brings together Melbourne based female and gender diverse poets and producers to collaborate and record a track together, bridging music and spoken word, two art forms that were born to be united.

The final product is Reverb on Verse; 10 exquisite spoken word pieces accompanied by emotive soundscapes. The album boasts the sounds of producers Beatrice, Woodes, Lapkat, Beth AQ, Jess Fairfax, Memphis Kelly (Saatsuma) and Ania Reynolds, who've created music to hug the words of poets Izzy Roberts-Orr, Sinit Tsegay, Katherine Gailer, Quinn Eades, Emilie Zoey Baker, Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa, Jessie Giles and Ebony Moncreif.

Join us for a cozy Sunday afternoon of beats and spoken word launching the album, while paying tribute to an impressive collective of local Melbourne poetic and musical talent. The afternoon will be accompanied by a panel discussion around the importance of decolonizing feminism, igniting all the awkward conversations that need to happen to get this process moving. Stay tuned to the Facebook event for updates on panelists.
