From the beer-soaked, glitter-filled house party scene where they cut their teeth to the biggest stages the Steel City has to offer, RAAVE TAPES' sound "mixes murky garage riffs with squiggles of synthy-laden dance grooves." - Triple J

After being earmarked as ones to watch by Triple J with an "Unearthed Spotlight" in July 2016, RAAVE TAPES took out the 2016 Triple J Unearthed THIS THAT competition. Their lively brand of garage indie dance rock has seen the Novocastrian 3 piece perform alongside industry favourites The Gooch Palms, Hockey Dad, Andy Bull, Harts, Skeggs, Cubsport, WAAX, The Bennies, Clowns, Ecca Vandal, The Pinheads, Polish Club, The Dumb Punts, New Navy, Bloods and a slew of local legends.

RAAVE TAPES released their debut, self-titled EP in July 2016 via Newcastle's No-Fi Records & completed a whirlwind east coast tour to celebrate. The Newcastle leg was a game changing evening for local music in Newcastle - being the first band to play King Street Hotel in over 20 years & managing to sell out the 300 capacity room within half an hour.

Infamous in Newcastle for their wild DIY house parties, Raavies next event "RAAVE TAPES Winter Wonderland" gave Newcastle a taste of their roots on a much larger scale. With 14 bands playing over 12 hours, local live art and a Raavies headline slot - the secret warehouse party saw 600 revellers immerse themselves in the city's vibrant creative underbelly.

Following the release of their latest single "2 u xoxo" this year they kicked off a national tour, featuring an appearance at Mountain Sounds. These lil raavie babies are working hard to maintain their momentum in 2017 with a new single and more tour plans to be announced. As Newcastle Live said, "RAAVE TAPES are a band that could explode at any moment".
