Discover the beauty of block printing in this Sunday full day workshop for beginners

Sunday 22 January, 10.00 am - 4.00 pm

Printmaking: Introduction to block printing (1 day)

Learn how to create and print your own custom block designs onto fabric and paper in this fun 1 day workshop with artist and textile maker Micaela Christie.

You'll get hands-on experience creating your own design and transferring it to a rubber block. You'll then learn how to carve the block and use it to print your designs onto fabric and card.

Full instruction is provided on materials, products, tools, equipment and studio procedures. Non-toxic processes will be offered wherever possible.

You'll get to take home everything you make, including the block and printed fabric and cards.

Intimate class size: maximum 10 students

Level: designed for complete beginners.

Wear: comfortable clothing (aprons provided.

Tutor: Micaela Christie

Since 2010, Micaela has been the creative director of Atomic Fox, a studio that produces hand printed textiles and artwork for interiors, homewares and costumery. Her work can be found in private collections in Australia and the UK. Based in the Blue Mountains, Micaela's multidisciplinary practice incorporates printmaking, painting, graphic design, fibre and lighting installations. She is a graduate of the University of NSW College of Fine Arts (now UNSW Art & Design). Her work is handcrafted with love and passion.
