THE RISE OF ANTI ESTABLISHMENT POLITICS

Both in Australian and overseas, we have seen an upswell of enthusiasm for anti-establishment political candidates. With anti-establishment politicians coming from both sides of the political spectrum (such as exemplified by Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders), what do we make of anti-establishment politics?

For our first Politics in the Pub event Dr Stewart Jackson will be talking about this rise in anti-establishment politics. Following this will be a Q&A and discussion. Our MC will be Cath Blakey, Greens candidate for the Wollongong by-election.

Dr Stewart Jackson is a Lecturer in the Department of Government and International Relations, with a specialisation in Australian politics, at the University of Sydney. His broad interests cover the breadth of Green politics in Australia and the Asia Pacific, with a special interest in party development. Dr Jackson currently co-hosts semi-regular program on Australia politics on radio 2SER.
