Paddy Mann, aka Grand Salvo, continues to gain wider acclaim and devoted fandom with each new work. His most recent album, 2012's Slay Me In My Sleep combined sweeping vision and intimate beauty, its orchestral style reach providing a tale of star-crossed lovers in novel-like fashion. From humbler folk beginnings, Grand Salvo continually pushes at the edges of traditional songwriting - a feat recognised with one of Australian music's highest accolades in being shortlisted for the prestigious Australian Music Prize for Slay Me In My Sleep.

Similarly ambitious, affecting and wonderfully entertaining are the songs of Paddy's brother, Oliver Mann. Dividing his time between singing with the Victorian Opera and his own music, Oliver moulds the rawness of folk and blues narrative with operatic vision, carried in no small part by the extraordinary range of his voice. Part showman, part storyteller, Oliver's compelling presence on stage and record exhibits a man equally in thrall to drama and wonder. His latest album, Slow Bark, is a collection of songs previously released as seven-inch singles The Vine has described as for 'fans of Antony Hegarty'.

In this rare-coming together, both Manns will perform with full bands in the gorgeous surrounds of Melbourne's Assembly Hall.
