One Movement for Music Perth (OMFM) is back for 2010 and is once again shaping up to be one of the most important music events in the Southern Hemisphere after establishing itself as a groundbreaking event in its inaugural year.

In 2010, there are new and exciting elements being added to the program from last years inaugural event. Heres a brief rundown.

ONE MOVEMENT MUSIC FESTIVAL
SATURDAY 9TH AND SUNDAY 10TH OCTOBER
This year's line-up is a step up from last year and is set to impress with artists hailing from Australia to the UK, from Canada to India, and all thats in between. With a vast range of musical influences covered, there is sure to be something for everyone.

Representing our fair country on the festival stage at the Perth Esplanade are favourites: Xavier Rudd, Grinspoon, Children Collide, Dan Sultan and British India plus rising stars Operator Please, Miami Horror, Drapht, Cloud Control, and Sally Seltmann. Throw in some emerging talent along the lines of Gypsy And The Cat, An Horse, Hungry Kids Of Hungary, Parades, Richard In Your Mind, Boy & Bear, The Melodics, Tim & Jean and dozens more, and we think its fair to say theres a aural feast on the menu.

Travelling far and wide to be a part of our international contingent are Ben Kweller (USA), Shapeshifter (NZ), Dengue Fever (USA), ZE! (Malaysia), Delta Spirit (USA), Via Tania (USA), Raghu Dixit (India Jonneine Zapata (USA), Bedouin Soundclash (Can), KORA (NZ), The Telephones (Japan), Melodramas (UK), Liz Green (UK), Get Dexter (UK) and The Great Spy Experiment (Sing).

ONE MOVEMENT MUSIC FESTIVAL by TWILIGHT
FRIDAY 8TH OCTOBER
Were pleased to announce another exciting dimension to our cultural music event. One Movement Music Festival, by Twilight will be held at the Esplanade from 5pm on Friday 8th October. Like many other cities around the world, people can leave work, meet up with friends, colleagues, partners and get straight into enjoying life, avoiding those Friday traffic jams and packed transport routines. The line up is one of artists that have already received great levels of success and are all excited in joining an event that fosters and exposes new talent.

The line up is an electrifying bunch of musicians with the likes of multi-Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter Sarah McLachlan (Can), leading the charge along with songbirds Court Yard Hounds (Dixie Chicks) (USA), Todd Rundgrens Johnson (USA), Aussie icon Paul Kelly (Aust), Kate Miller-Heidke (Aust), Pink Martini (USA), Lil Band O Gold (USA), Mama Kin (Aust) and Kadangyan (Phil) all set to take the stage amidst the gorgeous backdrop of The Esplanade.

ONE MOVEMENT FOR MUSIC SHOWCASE PROGRAM
THURSDAY 7TH SUNDAY 10TH OCTOBER
This year's Showcasing element is set to be huge! With more acts than last year, (many exclusive to the showcases), more venues, more days and more breaking bands, this really is your chance to discover some cutting edge acts performing in unique spaces in the city. Acts from all over the world including USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Korea, Russia and India, plus a whole host of local bands will showcase their wares to the assembled heavy weights of the music industry.

This year One Movement has commandeered new exclusive showcase venues including carpark conversions at The Amplifier, and Dilettante. Adding to these unique urban One Movement venue spaces is the nearby cafe Tiger Tiger. Live music stomping grounds, the Amplifier Bar and Capitol are also new welcome additions to the 2010 showcase program.

The wonderfully converted Wolf Lane Carpark and boutique drinking spot, the Belgian Beer Cafe will also be back after showcasing some amazing talent last year.

Some of this year's showcase artists include internationals Dzham (RUS), Colin Moore (Can), Rubylux (UK), The Respectables (Can), Final Flash (Can), Lost Souls Club (UK), The Trews (Can) The Circus (Ind) and from Australia: Drawn From Bees, OKA, The Jezabels, Cameras, Metals, Bloodpoets, MM9, Big Scary, The Audreys, Pikelet, Blackchords, Skybombers, Daniel Ratta, Papa vs Pretty, Pez and Ernest Ellis.

TICKETING OPTIONS

THE GOLD PASS
This year, One Movement for Music has a new, limited ticketing option for the true lovers of all things music. The Gold Pass is easily the best value for money ticket in town this summer and is the perfect choice for those who like discovering new and emerging musical talent. This strictly limited ticket gives you access to the Weekend Festival where you can enjoy artists from around the world on the picturesque Perth Esplanade.

Here's the best bit. Once the Festival finishes the Gold Pass will then give you access to all of the industry showcases, held in various intimate and unique venues in the Perth CDB from Thursday to Sunday night. There's around 25 showcases over 5 nights, giving you access to 80 additional artists and a further 130 hours of sweet sweet music. Discover new music before your friends do!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOUR TICKETS

Gold Pass
holders are permitted entry to any showcase subject to capacity of each venue. Gold Pass holders must be aware that some venues will be full and access will not be permitted.

Please note the below locations to collect your Gold Pass wristband for industry showcases on Thursday and Friday:
Thursday 7th Oct - Capitol 8:30pm - 1am
Friday 8th Oct & Saturday 9th Oct - Festival Box Office, Esplanade

Patrons under 18 will only be permitted if they have a valid ticket and are accompanied at ALL times by their parent. All parents will be required to complete a Family Welfare Registration Form before entering the festival site.

We play rain or shine. Cancellations due to weather will occur only in the event of dangerous conditions and will be at One Movements sole discretion.
