The OBITS are a Brooklyn (NY) based mildly mannered, shaggy garage, punk-rock four piece, heading south of the equator for their first Australian tour.
As a band, The Obits are but wee infants, yet, as a muso collective they have a smashing long pedigree. Fronted by singer/songwriter/guitarist Rick Froberg (Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu, Pitchfork), the band have two albums out on the suitably pedigreed SubPop label distributed by Inertia in Australia.
With a stripped down rock sound, incorporating elements of sound and garage, the bands repertoire of three-minute yowlers, sutures a sweet and sonic sound.
The band is, by it's members own admissions, a straightforward proposition. Simply, to rock you somem and to roll you some. So join the lads for a memorable serve of guitar garage-rock in August 2012.
