Over the last 20 years as well as being well-known for his brilliance in the fields of classical music and jazz, Kennedy has been creating radically innovative interpretations of the music of Jimi Hendrix. These have ranged from completely accoustic line-ups to fully electric line-ups with techno influences. The one thing about Kennedy's Hendrix is that you never know what's going to happen next, which makes every opportunity to hear his interpretations a unique one.

Jimi Hendrix may have been crowned the 'Wild Man of Pop' but almost 30 years after his death it is in the world of classical music that he has caused a stir. 
Nigel Kennedy gave Hendrix a complete makeover with the release of 'The Kennedy Experience', an album featuring such Hendrix greats as Third Stone from the Sun, Little Wing, Purple Haze, Fire and Drifting. 
Kennedy sees Jimi Hendrix as a traditional composer trapped in traditional rock format. Hendrix, he insists, should be up there with the all-time greats, on a par with Mozart, Bach, Liszt or Chopin.
