Summer surfsoul and global sounds from one of the fastest rising stars of roots and acoustic grooves, launching his new single.

2012 has already seen Nick tour Japan to almost cult-like acclaim, after performances in France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, the UK and the USA, including the ASCAP Conference in Hollywood. Closer to home he's played to sell-out crowds in his home town of Newcastle, and supported big names like Midnight Oil, the Violent Femmes, Katchafire, Custom Kings, Ash Grunwald, Tijuana Cartel, Dragon, Gangajang, Ian Moss, Potbelleez and many more.

In 2010 Nick Saxon was the ONLY artist chosen to tour Australia with the Australian Surf Movie Festival, playing 30 massive shows in front of capacity crowds. In 2011 he was runner up at Byron Bay's Bluesfest "Busking Over Byron" competition.

When he's not behind the microphone, Nick is in front of the camera travelling the world with National Geographic Channel as a presenter. Locations have included Papua New Guinea, New York, Christmas Island, South America, Canada and more to come. As Nick tells it, "There's two things I really love in life. Travelling and Music. Nat Geo is amazing. It gives me the opportunity to experience and document cultures, environments and people from around the globe. It's what fuels my Inspiration... The places and the people".

Nick also Produces/films/edits and writes his own short films, as well as writing and performing the soundtracks. His debut album Hide & Seek hit a year ago, scoring high praise and featuring in many surf films, magazines, books & TV shows, not to mention airplay on both Australian and international radio.

Nick calls his sound "acoustic/industrial/funk/folk. On stage he features guitar, vocal and percussive looping, combined with a hand-made vest fitted with electronic triggers to create a huge percussive backline.
