Where has Ngaiire been since Glastonbury? Since supporting Alicia Keys, John Legend and Cody ChestnuTT? Since playing Soulfest alongside D'Angelo and Angie Stone?

It's been nearly two years since Ngaiire launched her critically acclaimed debut album, Lamentations, and since then the lows have been as deep as the praise was high.

Following Lamentations' inclusion in The 2013 Coopers Australian Music Prize Top 25 'Highly Regarded' list, FasterLouder's Top 50 Albums of 2013, #25 in their Reader's Poll: Top 50 Albums of 2013 and those celebrated, aforementioned, shows, everything came crashing down.

Leaving crumbling relationships in Australia to play the Glastonbury Festival, having lost herself in a sea of festival goers, Ngaiire realised it was okay to feel perfection by herself; to go forward alone, as long as she had no regrets.

'Once' - the first single from Ngaiire's second album Blastoma - captures the elation of running toward the unknown, surrendering to a moment and having nothing left to lose. It's about fear, apprehension, and the possibility that taking a risk could be the best thing you've ever done.

Co-written with Megan Washington, and produced by Paul Mac, 'Once' will be premiered live for the first time at the InStyle Women In Style Awards in Sydney on May 13, with Melbourne receiving the full live experience as Ngaiire brings 'Once' and other Blastoma exclusives to Howler on May 27.
