Even in her earliest self-released recordings, it was obvious that the angelic harmonies of Brooklyn-based composer and vocalist Julianna Barwick would set her on a stellar orbit. In the last few years that promise has paid off: playing piano for Yoko Ono, sharing the stage at Carnegie Hall with The Flaming Lips and Philip Glass, reimagining Bach and even having a beer created in her honour.

While her path has been anything but predictable, her music has never faltered, with densely layered vocals soaring and swooping across imagined landscapes. For two nights only, she's taking Melbourne along for the ride.

Support act Laura Jean has become iconic, revered for the striking beauty of her music and the strength of her piercing, intimate lyrics. Her albums have been shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize, and nominated for multiple Age Music Victoria Awards.
